Finding Your Sexy After Weight Loss Surgery

Many people suffering from morbid obesity report lost feelings of sexuality as a direct result of their weight and poor health. As a person begins to recover from morbid obesity with the help of bariatric surgery they often express the desire to feel sexy again as they lose weight. Sexuality is not reserved for the thin, beautiful, or wealthy. Sexuality is intrinsic to human nature and can be enjoyed at any adult age or weight. Yet often illness, including morbid obesity, will cause our feelings of sexuality to diminish. As we begin to recover from morbid obesity and lose weight we often crave the good feelings that come from inner sexuality.
Here are some simple suggestions to get the sexy back after weight loss surgery.
  1. Avoid Comparisons. Comparing yourself to unrealistic body ideas, such as those in magazines or catalogs, can cause feelings of inadequacy or unattractiveness. Remove these images from your life as much as possible and remind yourself that these body types are not typical. Your body in all stages of recovery from obesity is beautiful and sexy and real. Celebrate you as the truly alive sexy individual that you are. Sexy starts from within and by avoiding comparisons and celebrating only you, the fire within ignites.
  2. Wardrobe change. In the advance stages of morbid obesity we often found ourselves sporting nothing but sweats day and night. As you lose weight change out your wardrobe to better fitted clothing that feels less like pajamas and more like you are dressed with some place to go. Sweats never feel sexy, but a nice pair of jeans and a flattering top do wonders to boost your sexy quotient. If you are not ready for a sexy reveal try something new in a sexy color like red or violet or even an animal print. Step outside your wardrobe comfort zone and take it up a sexy-notch.
  3. Bye-bye Granny-Panties. I remember that as a morbidly obese person the last thing I wanted think about was underwear shopping. Needless to say my undies were in bad shape. Throw away those ripped, faded, granny panties and invest in new underwear to fit your new shape. Get rid of that "who cares, nobody is going to see them" attitude about underwear and sport something new and fresh and well-fitted that makes you feel gorgeous. You see your underthings so give yourself something lovely to enjoy. Feeling sexy begins with you.
  4. Let's Get Physical. Move your body and love how it feels. Morbid obesity tends to trap us in a sedentary lifestyle. As we lose weight putting our body in motion with exercise or dance gives us a way to reconnect with our physical being, ultimately our sexual being. Turn on your favorite tunes and let go. "When you move your entire body to a beat, you start to love how it feels and embrace what your body can do," says Vanessa Isaac, the creator of Hip Brazil Dance and Fitness. "Awakening your inner rhythm awakens your sensuality."
  5. Pamper Yourself. Often as morbidly obese people we feel we are undeserving of pampering or personal attention. However, when we feel pampered and pretty we allow feelings of sexiness to emerge. Hit the spa for manicure, pedicure or massage. Beauty treatments boost your confidence and having someone pamper you and make you feel pretty are solid reminders that you are worth it. If a spa visit is out of the budget right now opt for a warm bath with candles and luxuriating suds. Dr. Elizabeth Lombardo says, "Sure it may be a cliche', but there is nothing like warm suds on your naked body to pump up the sensuality factor and remind yourself how important it is to take time to reconnect with you."

4 Healthy Weight Loss Tips That Really Work

There are so many gimmicks and fad diets out there that are simply terrible for your body. They promise to make you thin, but at what cost? Usually, at a very steep price to your health. Not only that, most people who go on diets cannot sustain them and actually put on more weight than when they first started. To keep the weight off for years and hopefully the rest of your life, you need to have a very different viewpoint about weight loss and dieting. So, I have included a few great weight loss tips in the article that should make a very big difference in your life if you apply them. They are simple, common sense things, but will get you amazing results...
Weight Loss Tips
1) Eat your Vegetables First - And no, french fries do not count as vegetables. Here is what you do... steam a whole pot of vegetables (or grill them with no oil or salt). Simple, do not add anything to them. Just eat them plain. Eat a whole plate of them. Okay, when you are done, have your other meal. Chances are you will eat a lot less of your unhealthy food, because now you will be pretty full from incredibly healthy food. And guess what, the steamed vegetables have no fat, very few calories and extremely high in nutrients and other healthy compounds that fight virtually every disease we know about.
2) Chew slowly and stop talking - One of the reasons we eat so much is because we do not pay ANY attention to our food. We talk or watch television, unaware of how much we are actually shoving in our mouths. Actually slow done and chew your food slowly and enjoy what you are eating. The more you chew, the easier it will be for you to digest your food. And the slower you chew and the more you pay attention to the food, the more you will actually enjoy it! And of course, if you eat slower, it will be much harder to overeat the way most of us do. Simple awareness can be life changing.
3) Stop yourself halfway through an unhealthy meal - No matter what, stop yourself half way through your meal. Push the plate away and do not eat another bite for at least 5 minutes. Just see what happens. 9 times out of 10, you will feel very full after those 5 minutes. Why? It takes a little time for the brain to get the messages from the stomach that it is full. But, when you eat too fast, you do not realize that you are already full. Stopping halfway through gives your body a chance to get the message and help you stop the overeating. If after 5-10 minutes you are still hungry, then by all means keep eating, but remember to eat slowly.
4) Think about this equation > nutrients/calories - Remember this simple equation and you pretty much cannot get lost. In other words, if you are trying to figure out if a food is healthy or not, just ask yourself this question. Is this food high in nutrients and low in calories? If the answer is yes, then it is very probably an excellent food choice. If it is low in nutrients and high in calories, then it is most likely not good for you (certainly in high quantity). It is so simple and will help guide you to much healthier eating habits.

Three Natural and Great Weight Loss Foods

Bored? Hungry? Tired? Eat an apple!
Yes, an apple a day truly does keep the doctor away. Apples promote weight loss, strengthen immune system, aid in preventing cancer, and lower cholesterol. They also prevent tooth decay, improve liver and lung function, are low in calories, and taste great. So eat an apple everyday.

Add more fruits and vegetables to your diet. You can eat fruits and vegetables all day long and not get fat. And I've never heard of anyone ever dying from overdosing on fruits so please eat them freely and frequently.
Coconut Oil
Coconut oil has gotten a bad rap in recent years; however, I encourage you to research the amazing health benefits of virgin coconut oil on your own. A great book I recommend is The Coconut Oil Miracle by Bruce Fife. It's got an entire chapter on Recipes for Nutrition and Beauty. Virgin coconut oil can be added to your everyday meals. It improves digestion, promotes weight loss and helps keep skin and hair looking young and healthy.

Green Tea For Weight Loss
Yes, Green Tea helps speed the weight loss process. Green tea is also good for glucose. It slows the increase in blood sugar after you eat. It also contains caffeine which increases metabolism and helps you burn more calories. (Also note that a little caffeine is good, but not a lot. No sodas!) Green tea also has cancer fighting antioxidants so it really is a great thing to add to your diet.

Don't be fooled. There are many products out there that advertise weight loss using green tea. Don't get the pills or the patch. Those companies just want your money. To get the real weight-loss benefits of green tea, you should get it from your local health foods store and brew it your self.
The way I make green teas is I heat up the water (filtered water not tap) on the stove (don't use the microwave) then I pour the hot water into a cup then put the teabag in. Don't heat the water with the teabag in it because that makes it "boil out" some of the natural healing properties of the tea. Then I add soy milk and a drop of organic honey for a hot and healthy treat. I try to drink two cups a day. Try it!

"3 Steps to Permanent Weight Loss"

There is not another subject on the planet more confusing than weight loss. There are literally thousands and thousands of books written on the topic and each one disagrees with the next. But, there is a secret to permanent weight loss and it is simple.
The real secret to permanent weight loss is...
The ability to sustain the daily practice of healthy, moderate eating and exercise habits long enough to attain the results you desire, and then continue performing these habits in order to maintain your results for lifelong success!
There is it. I know, it sounds simple but it is not! We live in a fast food, everything-should-be-easy, bigger-is-better society. Gluttony and instant gratification are the norm.
I believe there are three obstacles that thwart our ability to practice the healthy, moderate eating and exercise habits necessary to attain the results we desire, they are:
1) Getting most of our pleasure in life through the food we eat
2) Lack of long-term self-discipline in the areas of health and fitness
3) Lack of long-term self-motivation in the areas of health and fitness
Let's take a closer look at each of these.

OBSTACLE ONE

Most people are so busy day-in and day-out that the food they eat is their greatest pleasure. This is a true danger that prevents permanent weight loss. If you're burning the candle at both ends, rushing from one commitment to the next all day long, when you sit down to eat you want it to be extra good, because you deserve it.

SOLUTION ONE

Find ways to get more pleasure in a day. Have ten minutes of quiet time everyday reading your favorite book or magazine, spend a few minutes with a friend on the phone, or begin a new hobby that is fun. It doesn't take a lot of time; just find other ways to load up on pleasure so that you don't have to load up on food.

OBSTACLE TWO

Most people do not have the chip in their brains that allows for joyful self-discipline in the areas of health and fitness. Most of us have to be disciplined to get to work on time, meet deadlines, follow traffic laws, but not to limit food or exercise regularly. Some rationalize that since they have to be so disciplined in other ways they don't want to be when it comes to their food and exercise.

SOLUTION TWO

To establish long-term self-discipline you must focus on the joy of the reward you will get at the end of the road, not the challenge of the journey. So make a list of the top ten rewards you will gain when you lose weight. You must also ask yourself what it costs you to be overweight. Does it cost you your self-respect? Your joy and aliveness in life? Has it cost you a relationship or a job? Remembering the rewards and the cost makes practicing self-discipline a lot easier.

OBSTACLE THREE

It's easy to be motivated around January 1st, but what happens to all that motivation around March 1st? Or the first time a brownie passes by? Believe it or not, most people are not the master of their own motivation. They think just because they want it that it is motivation enough, and it is not.

SOLUTION THREE

You must reinvent your motivation every day. To do this write the top ten reasons you want to lose weight and keep it off. Also, make a list of the people who motivate you to want to lose weight and why. Review these lists, along with the ones you created above, in the morning and in the evening. Your motivation is ever evolving so what motivated you last week might not be motivating next week. So revise your lists regularly.

When you overcome these obstacles you will lose weight because over time, you will find other ways to get pleasure in your life, you will practice positive self-discipline and learn to live on less food and love it, and you will reinvent the motivation everyday to keep it all going.

Did You Really Think About Weight Loss?

Fast weight loss is achievable, but so is long-term weight loss.
Im think that is nothing worse than losing 3-5 pounds, and gain it back within few weeks. Now, question is, how you can lose some weight and STICK WITH IT for the long-term? Now, what is your most challenge? You must have a right mental attitude, beliefs and motivation! If you reach this, you can lose some weight. How? Here's 4 steps you can use to set the foundation for fat weight loss:
-Understand pain versus pleasure
Our opinion of how painful or how pleasurable is something, has a major impact on our commitment and actions! Most wishes in our life is fall down because we are trying to avoid pain or achieve pleasure! your chance of achieving fast weight loss is much greater
if you can focus on the pain of NOT losing weight. But why if you dont succeed? What will your friends, family and other people think if you fail in that mission - how to lose weight fast? But WHY you must lose 2 pounds per week? Try to lose 2 pounds per month! Build your own pain pleasure scale to help you stay motivated!

-Find some friend - buddy or two
You can find some person with experience to help you along the way is so important to your eventual success. Maybe you have some neighborhood or you can find some weight loss support group, online weight loss board, weight loss books or health and fitness coaches.
-Weight gain triggers
Fast weight loss goals will be helped along by understanding the reality and emotional triggers of what causes weight gain. Example: weight gain is a natural, standard experience of hitting middle age. I will suggest to keep a log o your feelings and what your eat for 1-2-3 weeks prior to dieting. You can call it your weight loss journal! Every time when your eat something make a log and write down your thoughts!
-Get busy and relaxed
A key part of your weight loss program must be exercise and relaxation! Stay positive, feel good achieve progress! Big part of that is your emotional and chemical body state! When you exercising, you realase pleasurable endomorphism into your brain, and in your sense pleasure of exercise become addictive! Meditation will take a little longer to show results, but you really can control the negative factors in your life!
What you want to reach? Fast weight loss! Just follow these steps and enjoy your newfound power and freedom to look better!

Natural Weight Loss Food: The Greater The Pleasure - The Greater The Weight Loss

It can't be true, you say. I hear you now.
Let me give you a perspective that I'm pretty sure is new to you. Eating natural weight loss foods that don't give you intense satisfaction is not a permanent solution. You will suffer for a day, a week, maybe even a month. But sooner or later, you will eat what you really want to eat. And then you will have eaten way more than you needed.
Here's how it goes. You ate all the stuff you were supposed to. You weren't satisfied. Then you ate what you really wanted. Food is not just a sterile, laboratory experiment. It's not just to "stay alive." Eating is supposed to be pleasurable.
You've been told you just need more discipline. I disagree. I am in support of eating food for maximum satisfaction on all levels. That means that you satisfy your hunger. Plus, you are emotionally satisfied. Eating food that tastes like bland cardboard is just not a pleasant experience. It doesn't make your mouth water. And it doesn't make you say "Yum" when you are done.
Taking a pill for all your nutrients just doesn't cut it. I see you nodding your head. There is something much bigger involved. Satisfaction. And that is spelled Food Pleasure. I should have put that in capital letters: Food Pleasure.
You cannot just ignore this. You need that emotional satisfaction. The pure joy of eating something delicious.
A thin friend of mine used to tell me "I'm not eating that. It's not worth the calories." I had to ponder that. It was a new concept when I first heard it. But I agree. If I am going to spend my time creating healthy natural weight loss foods, they have to taste delicious. That's not negotiable.
The days of sawdust cookies being everyone's idea of natural weight loss food is history. There is a wealth of options. There's something for you. Something you will love. Something that will satisfy. And that spells Food Pleasure.
I encourage you to choose in favor of pleasure. Ditch all those calories that aren't worth eating. Get maximum satisfaction with the most delicious food you can find.
You don't want as much volume if your eating experience includes maximum pleasure. That means sight, smell and taste. Eat what you really love and make it the best you can get.

The Weight Loss Program That Cannot Fail

If you've been trying to lose weight, and have not had success then you have found the right place. This is the method that I used to lose over 50lbs. Every person that has ever lost weight uses this method to accomplish their goal, whether they realize it or not.
When I got married in 2001 I would categorize my body as "a couple pounds overweight." Looking back, the proper categorization was "fat tub of goo." I believed that I was only a couple pounds overweight, and that I just had a lot of muscle or something, which is why the scales said I weighed so much. I didn't realize how badly I needed to lose weight, a lot of weight.
On my wedding day I was tipping the scales at an elephantesque 230lbs, which is quite impressive for a guy that's 5′10″ and was 160lbs in high school. I got married 3 years after I graduated from high school, when I was 21, which means I gained 70lbs. in 3 and 1/2 years. How I thought I was just a "couple" pounds overweight I'll never know. Today, it's been 5 years since my wedding day, and I now tip the scales at 174. That's 56 pounds of lard that I've trimmed off my frame.
I didn't struggle, starve, work myself to death or use any form of diet pills.
How did I do it then you ask?Simple, I lost weight the easy way, by using my brain.
It is impossible to lose weight if your brain is not along for the ride. If your brain thinks you look fine, and that there is no need for you to lose weight your body will not lose weight. It's really that simple. But, just like everything that seems simple, it's really much more complicated than that.
This is a picture of me from 2003. My wife and I went on a cruise to the Caribbean, this picture is of me standing on the ship at port in St. Thomas. As you can see, I look as though I've been pumped full of air, especially my face. It was these pictures from this trip where I realized that I was in need of losing weight. BAD. I realized for the first time that I wasn't "a few" pounds overweight, I was a fatbody. My clothes might hide it here a bit, but I had a full fledged dunlap. (dunlap = my belly dunlapped over my belt)
I started losing weight on this trip, even though Carnival could have accused me of being a cow the way I would graze the buffet lines. I was finally able to establish in my mind that I was fat. This was the first step to me losing weight. If you fail to take this step, you will never reach your weight loss goals. You will fail every time. This step is the most important.
The second step in this weight loss plan is to set your goal on how you want to look, not how much you want to weigh. This is another critical step that is often overlooked. Most people say how much weight they want to lose, but never state how it is that they want to look. I used to think if I lost 10-15 pounds I'd have six pack abs. I know it sounds crazy, but that's what I thought. If I had held myself to those goals I'd still be fat. I'd still weight 215-220, and I would still be unhappy about how I looked. So decide how you want to look, which folds, creases, curves and wiggles you want to eliminate. Really think about it clearly, once you can do that we can move on to step 3.
Once you've realized that you NEED, and I mean really NEED to lose weight, and you've decided exactly how it is that you want to look-then-and only then you can put your plan in motion. Next you must form a very clear mental image of your new self. You must see yourself enjoying life in your new body. See the new clothes that you will be wearing, see yourself enjoying outdoor activities, enjoying everything that you want to enjoy, and most importantly, see how much pleasure you have because you have lost weight.
Many people struggle with the idea of picturing themselves in their new bodies. If this is you I recommend you do it this way. Imagine yourself seated in a movie theater. The entire room is empty, except for you. You're seated in the middle row, in the middle seat, looking forward to the movie screen. Once this movie begins, you realize that it's a movie of you.
Put yourself on that screen, make the images that you are wanting to experience flash in front of you.
Simply imagine that you're watching a movie of you! Once you've got that down you will come to enjoy it, I promise! I would recommend that you spend a couple minutes everyday putting clear mental images of yourself enjoying all the experiences that you want to in your new body.
Most importantly I want you to feel these experiences, make them as real as you possibly can. If you do this before you go to bed at night, you will soon begin to dream in this fashion, of yourself in your new body. It's great!
Now that you are experiencing the pleasure of your new body, you need to turn the idea of remaining the way you are into a feeling of pain. Know that all the mental images you have of your new body, and all of that pleasure you feel will not be yours, if you remain the way you are. By remaining in your current body you will lose out on so much, you will miss out on so much fun and enjoyment in life that the very idea of maintaining the status quo causes PAIN.

Let's take a moment to review.

You MUST lose weight. You are fully aware, and have a full understanding of your need to trim down.

You have decided how exactly it is that you want to look, not how much weight you would like to lose.

You are forming mental images of yourself, and enjoying all the benefits, experiences and pleasures you desire from your weight loss in your mind. You can see the clothes you wear, the things you do, everything you want in life in your mind. You can see it clearly, and you can see that it brings you great pleasure.

You understand that by not acting upon your new desires, and choosing to stay the way that you currently are, you are going to bring pain upon yourself. Not losing weight will bring you pain, whereas losing weight will bring you all the pleasures that you have imaged in your mind.

I lost 56 pounds, and I will lose the little bit more that I still have to lose because I embraced these principles. I stopped eating as much. Why? Because by eating less I would bring pleasure to my life, and by pigging out I was bringing only pain. I exercised. I didn't exercise enough, I could have lost this weight faster had I put myself in a strict exercise program, but I didn't spend all my time doing nothing anymore. I went to the mall and found clothes that I was excited to fit into. I encouraged myself to keep pressing along by looking ahead, and seeing myself in clothes that were flattering on me, not fattering on me.

You can see now that I have lost a lot of girth. My old clothes do not fit anymore. I have no desire to ever wear them again. I do not want to be "big boy" anymore. I like the trimmed down version of me much better. By the way, this picture of me speaking is from December 2006.
Of course if you want to lose weight you're going to need to diet, exercise and make life changes that allow your body the fuel that it needs, not the fuel that you want. Losing weight is not entirely about your diet and exercise though. You must have a desire to lose that weight, and a reason to lose it if you are going to persist when things get tough.
I used to hate running. I hated it. Today when I run I go out and run around a lake near my house, it's 6.5 miles, and for some reason the vast majority of the run is uphill. I actually enjoy this run because it clears my head, allows me time to think, and moves me closer to the pleasure that I desire from being in great shape. I do not look at running as a burden, or as an experience of pain. I view it as a pleasurable one.
When I go out to eat I do not stuff myself anymore. Typically now I eat less than 1/2 what I used to. I hardly ever drink soda, and I never touch alcohol. I do my best to put healthy food in my body, and I enjoy doing it. All of these things bring me pleasure, and stuffing my face full of fast food, or fattening unhealthy crap brings me pain.
Losing weight is that easy. You can form the image of your new self in your mind, and the pleasure that you desire from that can drive you toward your goal in a totally unstoppable way.

Pain and Pleasure - The Inspiration For Weight Loss Success

We sometime feel frustrated because we don't do anything about our weight issues. We become lazy and uninspired to do anything about it. What is that that gets some people moving towards their weight loss goals. We see these people moving and nothing stops them from achieving their goals. Their focus is laser like. Their focus is guiding them to their destination with resolve.
How can you have this type of focus? How can you be inspired to do something about your weight issues?

Pain and pleasure

The key is hidden in your tolerance to pain and what you experience as pleasure. When it comes to weight loss, many people don't act until there is so much pain that it forces them to act. For example, when your doctor tells you that you must lose weight or else you could die what would you do? How motivating is that for you to change? It all depends on what you experience as pain and pleasure.

For some, the pain of apparent death is so painful that the pain and sacrifice of exercise is worth it to stay alive. These people will put off pleasure to experience pain. They will experience pain first and pleasure afterwards.
The wrong order is to experience pleasure first and then pain. This order will keep you overweight and frustrated. Let's see examples as to how this works.

Pain and then pleasure

You might be in a situation where everyone around you is eating unhealthy foods and you want to stay committed to your weight loss goals by avoiding unhealthy foods. The pain of passing up great tasting food is powerful but you don't give in. Not to mention the pressure you'll receive by the offers of food. You'll experience pleasure afterwards knowing that you didn't sabotage. You keep your integrity and your self-esteem is maintained if not increased. You don't experience feelings of guilt. Another word for this type of behavior is called delayed gratification. Where you purposefully delay gratifying things that will sabotage you to experience pleasure later.

Pleasure and then pain

Let's take the same scenario and say you wanted to experience pleasure first by eating unhealthy foods. The pleasure in enjoying the taste of the unhealthy food is powerful. So powerful that you don't delay the gratification. As time goes by you feel the guilt of eating unhealthy foods. You feel fat, sluggish and slow. You wonder then why you don't have discipline to say no. This is the experience of feeling the pain afterwards.

The point here is to experience the pain first and then feel the pleasure. Delay gratification is due process. It's essential to apply the technique of pain and pleasure. Practice delaying gratification so that you don't sabotage. That's what it's all about. You must practice this technique to be successful when it comes to weight loss. It's your choice. What are you going to choose?

Diets For Weight Loss And Good Health

More and more, people now turn to their "Diet" not only to lose weight but also to cure or alleviate other "Health Issues".
Remember "What We Eat" affects our "Weight Loss Issues" and most of our "Health Issues" more than anything excepting environment, which is another matter!
To Start Off
Might You Agree With The Following Statements?
1/ Most "faddy diets" Do Not Work Long Term!
2/ You Are What You Eat!
3/ Where The Mind Goes The Body Will Follow!
To Clarify The Three Statements Above I Would Say This.
1/ In our heart of hearts we know, especially if you have tried one, that "Faddy Diets" do not usually work long term. Why? Well, mostly, it's motivation or should I say the lack of it, plus, some deprivation diets are not all that palatable, and some just don't work. Whatever the regime, you start with good intentions and you lose weight, but after you have shed a few pounds you lose the impetus and when you return to your normal eating habits the weight comes right back. Has that happened to you?
2/ We keep hearing that old saying "You Are What You Eat", but think about it, it's true! Where do you find the most obese people in the world? Is it in the poorer countries where only the "staple diet" like Fruit and Vegetables, Potatoes and Rice are eaten or is it in the more prosperous countries where we are teased with great tasting food that is laced with sugar and saturated fats along with sugar filled drinks? It shouldn't surprise you to find that the incidence of Heart Disease, Stroke and Digestive Disorders all follow the same geographical locations.
3/ Where The Mind Goes The Body Will Follow! If your thoughts are constantly on losing weight, if you have a burning desire to be thin, then you probably will be, given time. On the other hand if you constantly desire or out of habit, regularly eat saturated fatty food, then you will be Over-Weight or if you like FAT, sorry but true!
Thankfully there is some simple common sense, tried and tested, but most importantly, successful ways of losing weight! Remember there is no "One Size Fits All" weight loss program out there, and what will work for some, will not work for others.
The Correct Psychology With Any Weight Loss Program Is Paramount!
Psychology Who? Ok, I'll put it a different way. How do you loose pounds of fat and maintain the weight loss long term without the correct psychological mindset?
The Answer To The Above Question Is Where Most Diets FAIL!
However the answer is simple. Without the correct psychological mindset you probably won't! What's more when it all goes wrong, as it usually does, you will more than likely regain the weight that you lost and then some! Been There? Worn the T-Shirt?
Common Sense Should Tell Us That Most Diets Have Something Missing. The Psychology!
Tragic as it is, millions of people world wide, go through the pain of dieting (notice the first 3 letters in diet spell DIE!) but isn't it the case that people, regardless of the time of year, resolve to loose weight only to give up in two weeks, three weeks or a month.
Now def"eat"ed in battle we then wait until next January 1 or the latest fad diet to emerge that might tempt us yet again to run the gauntlet.
So, How Can We Halt This Process? What Is The Trick To Successful Weight Loss?
Let's forget food for a few seconds and get down to basics. Have you ever wondered what are the driving forces that make you decide on one course of action rather than another? The psychology perhaps?
A good example here might be: Why did you choose to eat that"Yummy Cream Cake" instead of that "Healthy Salad"?
It's not just food, you know! This driving force affects most aspects of our daily life! Ultimately, it is something that we want to "avoid" and something that we "desire to attain".
Is this man talking in riddles? OK here it is!
The Psychology Of PAIN and PLEASURE
Most decisions, no matter how large or small, have pain or pleasure attached to it to some degree. Nothing in life is Black or White just shades of Grey and this applies to pain and pleasure.
For instance, talking food again, you might "eat that cream cake" because of the immediate pleasure and push aside the pain, which would come later because of the extra unwanted weight.
Another example might be a choice between the "Cream Cake" (pleasure), or the "Double Choc, with strawberry and vanilla topped, Gateaux" (ultimate pleasure). Get my drift on Psychology?
Understandably, avoiding pain takes precedence over seeking pleasure. For instance, if the choice on offer were either "a yummy cream cake" (desire to gain pleasure), or "fill in your tax returns before they remove your furniture" (avoid pain) which one would you choose? I think the cake might stay in the refrigerator until this pain was avoided!
How Does This Psychology Apply To Me?
Simply put, you will either go for the pleasure, and eat the cream cake, the large steak and fries, or you will avoid the pain by changing your mindset.
How To Change The Psychological Mindset And Why?
Let examine someone who feels they are moderately over weight, you know, not too fat, the old clothes still fit but thinks: should I go on a weight loss plan? What do you think? Are they likely to give up the pleasure of food, Mmm?
Now, this same person has been over indulging for several months and the story is now different, very different!
The cloths don't fit. His belly now rolls over the top of his trousers and his partner (being politically correct) has just said "Fred (I love the Flintstones) you are getting as fat as a pig, why can't you look like Barney, that nice thin chap next door?".
Wow!! PAIN!!
Another plate of "Dino-Ribs" sir? er I think not!
So what does Fred do? Simple, what we all do! The psychological pain of being fat motivates us to start to lose some weight, we then start to look and feel better, and guess what? The PAIN subsides and we loose the motivation to continue and we get back on the merry-go-round once more and seek the Pleasure found in food! Whoops, there goes the day!
You! Must Control The Motivation Behind Pain And Pleasure Or It Will Control You!
In this life there is not a lot that we have total control over. The Weather, the Stock Market, the Price of Food etc.
What we do have is ultimate control over what our minds focus on, the psychology. If our focus is in the wrong direction then we can expect results contrary to what we desire. For instance: If we see the consumption of food as extreme pleasure and perceive a low calorie diet as pain then we will not achieve our goal. But if we can train our minds to think differently then losing weight can take on an whole new meaning.
Ok, you have had it with the tight clothes; the snide remarks of "Fatty", the mirror on the bedroom wall and you need a way out. What if you could associate not pain with dieting but pleasure, how might that feel? Conversely, if you now associated pain with being fat, might that put a new slant on things?
Say, all of a sudden, you now associate dieting as the ultimate pleasure and conversely you believe not losing weight as pain, then this might help.
It's not easy, but you can change your mindset if you try. There are lots of publications on Psychology that will guide you and supercharge your motivation so that you can achieve your goal.
As for "What Weight Loss Program" should you choose? The answer is simple. If it is a balanced diet and includes some exercise and more importantly You Like It then that is the regime for you! The rest is down to how you approach the next few weeks and months and how you have adjusted, or not, your mindset.
As a starter, JUICE any fruit or vegetable and replace everything that you might eat AM with the fresh juice. If you are still hungry then juice one less apple and eat it or have a banana (do not try to juice bananas, the juicer dose not like bananas!). In the PM eat normally but watch the size of the portions.
GOOD LUCK!

Green Tea - Your Key to Weight Loss Success

A healthy image of yourself boosts confidence as well as increases the chance for success in every aspect of life. Finding the right weight loss program that suits the body can lead to better results. Green tea weight loss is one of the best-selling ideas. Green tea has been proven to eliminate unwanted toxins in the body. There are hundreds of studies regarding the effectiveness of this type of tea to achieve weight loss. You just have to give considerable time in reading medical and health journals to get satisfied with the results.
Green tea has a lot of advantages in the body. It soothes and calms the senses while enhancing the chances of the body to eliminate unwanted stored fats in the body. Camelia Sinensis is among the major components and is the main ingredient of green tea. It is filled with catechin compounds. The catechin compound is the one responsible for helping the body lose weight.
By taking in green tea, the possibility of the body to experience thermogenesis is heightened. Thermogenesis increases the heat process of the body which strengthens the capacity of the body to use stored energy. The body would easily utilize the energy that is found in stored fats due to the presence of more catechin in the body. Drinking more green tea helps the body increase movement which results to reduction of unwanted fats.
Energy consumption goes hand in hand with metabolism. If more energy is utilized chances are that the metabolic rate of the body speeds up too. The calories and other concentrated fats in the body would be utilized faster and absorbed better.
Camellia Sinensis contains caffeine that provides weight loss advantages. A high dosage of caffeine with catechin can help one achieve a faster weight loss result. Aside from helping you lose weight, catechin also gives out antioxidants that help stop the spread of cancer cells in the body. It also lowers the bad cholesterol and is effective in fighting other forms of sickness.
The good effects of green tea outweigh any unwanted effects that it can bring out in the body. You have to be patient in taking it every day before you can see good weight loss results. It is also better to couple the effort by exercising and giving up vices like alcoholic drinks and smoking to achieve better results. Now that's a good weight loss regimen!

Weight Loss Advantage - Progressive Resistance

Weight loss is trying for many, myself included. You can try every fad diet that comes down the pike to your heart's content, but you're at the mercy of your genes for better or for worse. So what does it take to succeed? You're correct if you say things like willpower and exercise. As with anything new or stressful, make sure to contact your doctor before partaking.
Everyone really knows this material, but we're so often bombarded by slick advertising that many people think they only thing to do is throw money at the problem. In reality, the lasting change on the outside will come only from within yourself.
You have to want it. And you have to want it more than you want to sit and eat and be generally sedentary. Again, this is all information you know from grade school.
So how can you make it a bit easier? Progressive Resistance is the answer for many. I've lifted weights in the past as I do now, and have the vertebral disc damage to prove it. Those who are really into this activity are sometimes known as Gym Rats. There's a good reason for that as they spend most every waking hour in their local gym.
But you don't have to do that. You can life weights once or twice a week and gain muscle. This is what Progressive Resistance is all about. Pick some exercises you feel comfortable doing, maybe just three and remember to work with what you have. This means you don't need weights- just use gallon jugs filled with water or your own body weight.
As an example, do some pushups and record how many you can do. These repetitions will be your absolute maximum effort to fully exhaust the muscle. Start from your knees if you have to, or just lower yourself as slowly as possible if you can't do any pushups.
Do two sets in this fashion. You'll notice you are weaker on your second set and this is because you've already partially exhausted the muscle. If you get 7 repetitions, try for 10 next time. If you take 9 seconds to lower yourself on pushups, then try to hold yourself up for 12 seconds the next time.
Give yourself about 4 days between doing the exercises in the mini workout and allowing your body to recover to go again. If you have made progress since your last mini workout then you are getting stronger. This happens because muscle adapts to progressive loads. What's so great about that?
Well, muscle eats calories and the more you have, the more you will have extra calories burned away. If you're concerned about becoming muscle bound or are a woman not interested in building big muscles, don't fret. This isn't a lot of exercise and won't make you Adonis overnight.
Since muscle outweighs fat, you may not see a change in the number on your scale, but your clothes will fit better and you'll have a glow about you because you'll feel so much better. Good luck to you and I hope you find that Progressive Resistance provides you with a weight loss advantage.

Weight Loss Diet

Weight loss diet is the topic of conversation in public places, private parties, on buses and cabs, by the beach and the dinner table. A quality weight loss is not a quick fix or a diet that you follow a few weeks and then you can go back to eating like you did before the diet. A quality weight loss is a lifestyle change that dares you to leave your bad eating habits behind and step into a thinner way of living.
What is important about picking the right diet is to find diet that is going to help you change your eating habits. One of the biggest problems people seem to have about being on how to get thin fast is the selection of foods they are going to be allowed to eat. Each popular diet has its share of successes and failures. So which one is right?
Diet and Foods
Many popular diets advocate the combination of a specific technique (such as eliminating a certain food, or eating only certain combination of foods) with reduced caloric intake, with the goal being to accelerate weight loss. Low-fat diets were popular during the 1980s and 1990s; encouraging people to eat foods low in fat (or without fat altogether) and instead eat foods high in carbohydrates.
This led to high consumption of low-fat foods high in refined carbohydrates (notably corn syrup), which may have contributed towards increased weight gain as carbohydrates (particularly refined carbohydrates) have a low nutrient density and high in calories. Supermarket shelves were flooded with high-glycemic carbohydrate foods, offering little in the way of nutrients, but plenty in the way of empty calories.
These foods became dietary mainstays for many people, especially women, who found themselves indulging in snack foods such as reduced-fat "baked" potato and corn chips, and fat-free rice and corn cakes, cookies, pretzels, and crackers. Ironically, in this instance, it is not the caloric value of the foods causing the weight gain. In addition, many nutrition experts believe that eliminating a wide range of foods, like carbs or dairy, may prove in the future to have caused more serious problems.
Just because someone else lost weight on it, doesn't mean it's the best diet for you, or that it's even healthy. A good diet should be rich in whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, which are specially recommended for weight control and preventing diseases such as cancer and heart disease.
Exercise
The path to improving your diet, exercise habits, and weight loss is not easy and takes commitment and determination. Physical exercise is an important complement to dieting in securing weight loss. Exercise increases your metabolism and allows you to burn more calories while at rest and lose weight. Aerobic exercise is also an important part of maintaining normal good health, especially the muscular strength of the heart.
To be useful, aerobic exercise requires maintaining a target heart rate of above 50 percent of one's resting heart rate for 30 minutes, at least 3 times a week. There are also some easy ways for people to exercise, such as walking rather than driving, climbing stairs instead of taking elevators, doing more housework with fewer power tools, or parking their cars farther and walking to school or the office.
Popular Diets
Which popular diet is the best for getting thin? Each popular diet has its share of successes and failures. Most popular diets experience short-lived popularity, partly because new diet books are continuously being published.
The low carbohydrate diet, sometimes marketed today as the Atkins Diet, remains popular today. The South Beach diet gained extreme popularity around the same time as the low-carb revolution. The Zone diet, which continues to be popular, is based upon controlling the balance of hormones in your body.
The apple cider vinegar weight loss diet became popular back in the 1970s, alongside many other fad diets and weight loss scams. Some popular diets that involve unbalanced nutrition can cause mood swings and harm the immune system. When choosing a diet, don't just jump on the bandwagon of the latest popular diet.
Conclusion
The goal of a getting thin should be to improve the long term eating habits. Sometimes it is difficult to tell which ones will help you keep the weight off for good and which ones are fad diets that will only bring about temporary weight loss.
The diet should include all food groups and should offer an eating plan that can be followed for life. It also should include enough information to help a person make informed choices on calories, fat and general dietary modification. The weight loss diet or weight loss program that does not teach good long-term eating habits can not solve weight problem.
The only proven safe method of weight loss is to eat a sensible healthy diet with a moderately decreased caloric intake from your norm, and to increase exercise gradually until weight loss results. After the initial weight loss you still need to follow a balanced calorie-controlled diet (that improves your eating habits) and take regular aerobic exercise.
It's OK to have some snacks or take a break once in a while, but try to remember that sensible eating and physical activity habits, followed over time, are key to weight loss and a healthy body, mind, and spirit. The best weight loss diet is one that will help you to eat less, eat healthy and exercise more as mentioned in program How To Get Thin Fast.

The Best Diaic Free Weight Loss Diet

Losing weight can be very difficult, especially if you are already obese and are already experiencing health problems. Because of this, experts are continuously trying to develop a diaic free weight loss diet. A diaic free weight loss diet can benefit diabetics because it helps maintain glucose levels at normal range.
Low carbohydrate diets
A low-carb diet is a type of diaic free weight loss diet that prioritizes carbohydrate restriction. Carbohydrates are linked to the increase in blood sugar levels. Recent studies have shown that they can increase blood sugar much faster than sweets or soda, because the convert starch into complex sugars during digestion. Examples of such carbs are white rice and white potatoes.
Sugars
Part of a diaic free weight loss diet is cutting down on the sugary foods. Take sugar-free or low-sugar options if they are available. If not, don't eat them at all or take them only in small amounts. For instance, if you love jam or jelly, you can try a single or a double teaspoon serving on a slice of bread. Remember that there are also soups, vegetables and sauces that contain sugars. Make sure that you read the nutritional label at the back food products before buying them.
Fat content
In a diaic free weight loss diet, you should also be able to cut down on fatty foods. Make sure that you limit your consumption of fatty foods to keep your cholesterol levels from rising. Too much fat in the diet can lead to obesity, which in turn may cause complications such as high blood pressure and heart disease.
Maintain a balance
Keep everything balanced in your diaic free weight loss diet by including foods from all the food groups/ This will ensure that you still get all the nutrients you need, despite your food restrictions. Load up on fruits, vegetables, and low-fat dairy products, but do not miss out on lean meat, whole grains, poultry, meat, and other meat alternatives. Avoid high-calorie and high-fat foods such as cheese, dairy, cakes, and processed foods.
Load up on the fiber
A diaic free weight loss diet includes a daily dose of around 20 to 35mg of fiber everyday to help regulate bowel movement. Regular bowel movement is important for getting the harmful wastes out of your body. Good sources of fiber include fruits, vegetables, beans, and whole grains. These are fairly easy to incorporate in your daily menu, so there's usually no need to take fiber supplements. However, make sure that you also drink plenty of water to avoid constipation.
Making the diet work
It can be hard to make a weight loss program work, especially if you have diabetes. Some diets do not work simply because they fail to address the special nutritional needs of diabetic patients. Fad diets such as South Beach, Atkins, and Mediterranean are some popular examples. Because they restrict the kind of food you can eat, you miss out on many important nutrients and become prone to disease. Before trying out any of these diets, consult your doctor to make sure it will work for you.
What to watch out for
There are a lot of low-calorie, low-sugar, low-fat, and low-carb diets, but they can be very restrictive for diabetics. Make sure that you do not miss out on all the important nutrients that can come from regular foods. Also, make sure that you are still able to eat balanced meals even if you are cutting down on the fats, sugars, and the carbohydrates.
Avoid bothersome diets
There are some diets that require too much work, pressure, and money. They can also be very methodical and specific, but they can end up competing with your other nutritional and health goals. Make sure that you are following an effective and safe weight loss program that fits your lifestyle and overall health needs. Avoid programs that promise quick weight loss--these are most likely ineffective and may even be harmful. Besides, your goal is not just to lose weight; its todevelop and maintain a healthier lifestyle to help you cope with diabetes.
Remember to consult with your doctor
It's very important to talk to your doctor before entering a diaic free weight loss diet. Your doctor can evaluate you and help you design the right kind of weight loss diet that can fit your health and lifestyle needs.

Weight Loss Diet Pills

Diet pills are a very alluring option for someone who has many failed diets under their belt. Moreover, commercials promoting weight loss pills always promise fast and easy weight loss. It is important to know that many diet pills and weight loss aids are counterfeit. Americans spend an obscene amount of money on weight loss products, especially weight loss pills. âAccording to Fat -- Exploding the myths, by Lisa Colles, Americans reportedly spend between $30 and 50 billion annually on diets, weight loss programs and products. A whopping $6 billion is spent on weight loss pills and products that are not genuine.
There are many different types of diet pills that can be broadly classified into the following types:
Prescription diet pills: These pills are primarily created for those suffering from debilitating obesity. Weight loss pills are not a mock solution for the problem, nor are they proposed as replacement for the conventional weight loss and management methods such as exercise and diet. When traditional weight loss techniques fail to produce the desired results, most people lose motivation and faith in the process. As a result they turn to quick fix answers like diet pills. The pills that are prescribed are only given for certain conditions and in certain dosages. Furthermore, their side effects have to be closely watched.
Over the counter weight loss pills: The weight loss industry is already cashing in on the average Americans insecurities surrounding body image and a certain definition of beauty based on how skinny you can be. This further fuels the diet industrys success. They make diet drugs and call them food supplements and these so called "supplements" are largely unregulated. They are not subjected to stringent testing by federal authorities nor are labeling requirements enforced, as in the case of prescription weight loss pills. Moral of the story: if weight loss diet pills are your only recourse, better see a doctor before you take them rather than after.
